Quite some time since i last submitted anything. I had alot of fun testing and experimenting with this and discovering new methods of creating planet textures and nebulas etc. Finally it's all done.

About 25 hours of work spread over 3 weeks and atleast 9 hours just for the main planet. It's all done in Photoshop, mostly texture creating and brushing with various home made brushes.

I consider this a finished piece and therefore i won't change anything.

If i look closer at the picture i see rockets coming up from the planet.
What were you thinking by doing that - like a desperate attempt to save the planet and
try to destroy the incoming comets ? I sure would like to know...beautiful picture btw, close to perfection.
I like that star in the upper left hand corner wth the 2 spheres around it..very well done, with a good eye for details !

Thank ya. I wanted to include a story into the image yet leaving it unexplained so that everyone could think up their own beginning and ending. That's where the rockets come in. The icy and dead planets inhabitants made a desperate attempt to survive by sending some of the remaining ones to the beautiful and unscarred neighbour planet.

Well you get the point. Thats the basic story line if you ask me, altho anyone can make up their own ^^

exactly - and you did a good job by leaving the story open - the picture is finished the way it is - dont change anything please.

Ya don't have to check frequently. Trust me, i rarily post pieces nowdays since i put alot more work in each piece than i did before. I figured that makes each piece better and improves the overall quality of my gallery..what a shock i got xD
